National Equestrian Centre - Ermelo, Netherlands

THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR SPONSORS!

- FROM THE 2022 INTERNATIONAL YOUNG BREEDERS TEAM!

World Championships - Netherlands 2022

Legacy Performance Training is extremely proud to announce that two of its team members, Nakisha Molyneux and Tayler Mundt have been selected to represent Team Canada at the 2022 Young Breeders World Championships in Ermelo, Netherlands. In light of this exciting announcement, we are fundraising to help cover the expenses of international travel.

Founded in 2003, the Canadian Warmblood Horse Breeders Association (CWHBA) Young Breeders team was the first non-European organization to participate in the International Young Breeders Competition. The CWHBA young Breeders Program encourages youth to connect and gain knowledge on the breeding industry, while providing guidance and support to ensure they are prepared to have a positive impact on the equine community as a whole. The main activities of our program include but are not limited to; training and information sessions, encouraging participants to volunteer at CW events across the country, national competition, and participation by selected team members at the world championship competition representing the CWHBA Studbook.

For more information please see the CWHBA Young Breeders Program and International Young Breeders.

I am 21 years old and I’ve been riding since I was 13! If you ask my parents I’ve always been what most would call “horse obsessed”, from playing with Breyer horses at a very young age to begging my parents for riding lessons, I’ve just always loved and had a passion for horses. I’ve been riding with Legacy Performance Training / Erin for 6 years, and she is the one who originally got me into this crazy adventure called horse ownership. We ride out of Ulterra Equestrian, and Cathy (owner and operator) had mentioned to Tayler and I about the opportunity to go to The Netherlands through the International Young Breeders team for the Canadian Warmblood Horse Breeders Association. After a couple of months of hard work, we have been accepted to be on the team! Along with being on the team, I am a director for the Alberta chapter Canadian Warmblood Horse Breeders Association, and Chair for the Young Breeders of this group. This opportunity means the world to me as it’s giving me hands on experience with some of the nicest young horses, and it is allowing me to make life long connections with other like-minded horse individuals and organizations. I can honestly say without this opportunity I would likely never be going to the Netherlands so it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity for me! I’m very excited and honoured to be representing the International Young Breeders!

I am 15 years old and I have been riding for seven years now with Legacy Performance Training, and it is absolutely my life. Being on Team Canada means so much to me and I am very proud of my accomplishment. It was a lot of hard work to get to this point, and I know that I am going to have to continue to work hard. This is a chance for me to further my knowledge and open new doors in the horse world on an international level. It is my dream to have a long-lasting career in the horse world and this a major step towards that becoming reality. It is an incredible opportunity that I will be taking full advantage of while learning everything I can along the way and representing my country.
